Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of School Mom at getschoolmom.com and in the School Mom iPhone app. By creating an account or using School Mom, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What School Mom is

School Mom organizes your coursework: it reads syllabi you upload and course sites you connect, builds a to-do list, sends reminders, and can sync to Google Tasks. It's free to use right now, and we may add paid features later. We'll tell you before anything you use starts costing money.

Double-check your due dates

School Mom uses AI and your course sites to find assignments and due dates, and it can make mistakes: miss an item, misread a date, or fall behind when a professor changes something. Your syllabus, your course site, and your instructor are always the official source. You are responsible for your own deadlines and schoolwork, and School Mom isn't responsible for missed assignments or grades.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use School Mom.
• Keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• Only connect accounts you own, and only upload material you have the right to use, such as syllabi from your own classes.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload and connect. You give us permission to store and process it only to run School Mom for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and data at any time.

Acceptable use

Don't use School Mom to:

• break the law or your school's academic integrity rules;
• access other people's accounts or data;
• interfere with, overload, or try to break into the service;
• scrape or resell the service.

We may suspend accounts that do these things.

Grounded mode

Grounded mode is optional and you turn it on yourself. On iPhone it can lock apps you choose using Apple's Screen Time. You can always stop it in iOS Settings under Screen Time. Don't rely on it for anything safety-critical.

Other services

Connecting Canvas or Google is optional, and those services have their own terms. We're not responsible for their availability or changes that affect syncing.

No warranty and limits

School Mom is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We're a small, early-stage project and may change, pause, or discontinue features. To the fullest extent the law allows, School Mom and its creators aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost grades, data, or opportunities, and our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (currently $0).

Ending your use

You can stop using School Mom and delete your account at any time by emailing j.ramirez.ozaeta@gmail.com. We may end access for accounts that break these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know by email or in the app. Continuing to use School Mom after that means you accept the new terms.
